Vice President or Principal, Consumer Private Equity

Broad Sky Partners is a New York-based private equity firm founded by a group of senior investors who have worked together from industry-leading private equity firms. Broad Sky is focused on investing in and partnering with leading middle-market companies within the Consumer and Business Services sectors. Our team of over 20 experienced investors, operating executives, and leaders with outstanding track records has deployed approximately $2 billion of equity capital in 29 portfolio companies at prior firms. Broad Sky’s strategy seeks primarily control-oriented investments as well as significant minority positions when appropriate. The firm’s target equity check size is $50 million to $200 million per investment. Broad Sky maintains an internal Portfolio Resource Group, which was established as part of the firm from day one and is seamlessly integrated into the firm’s processes from initial due diligence to post-acquisition value creation. The Broad Sky team are active investors in partnership with our portfolio company management teams in enabling our company’s to achieve enduring success and drive value for our investors.

Opportunity Summary

The Vice President or Principal will be focused on investing in the Consumer sector, working closely with the firm’s founding partners as well as the rest of the investment team and Portfolio Resource Group. The firm invests across the entire Consumer sector, including several focus areas such as health & beauty, food and ingredients, pet, consumer services, and media and entertainment. This is a unique opportunity to take on an active leadership role within a growing and entrepreneurial firm and to become a member of the initial founding team.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and analyze potential investment opportunities as a core member of the firm’s investment team
• Lead all aspects of due diligence for prospective portfolio investments, including managing all third-party advisors (accounting, legal, commercial, etc.); lead diligence meetings with target companies; and present investment theses and key diligence findings to the firm’s Investment Committee
• Assist in the structuring and negotiations to consummate investments in new portfolio companies
• Maintain an active leadership role in the ongoing day-to-day management of portfolio companies in collaboration with Broad Sky’s PRG team, including leading add-on acquisition activity and supporting the execution of other strategic initiatives
• Train and manage junior investment professionals on transaction execution, business development, and portfolio company support
• Assist in general fund management, portfolio reporting, and investor relations activities

Qualifications

• Experience at the Principal/VP/Senior Associate level with an established private equity firm
• Strong academic credentials, with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or higher
• Willingness and interest in living in the greater New York City area
• Motivated individual with the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment and handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Team player mentality and strong work ethic
